Retirement of Shannon Airport Director
Shannon Airport Director Martin Moroney has decided to retire from the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) in December, after 31 years of service to the Group.
Mr Moroney started his career with Aer Rianta International and rose to become its Business Development Manager before transferring in 1996 to the then Aer Rianta as Shannon Airport General Manager, Traffic Marketing. He was appointed Director of Shannon Airport in 2002 and during his eight years at the helm, he steered the airport though a number of business challenges.
Mary Considine, who is currently Head of Finance and Corporate Affairs at Shannon Airport, will assume the role of Shannon Airport Director from December.
A native of Lisscassy, Co Clare, Ms Considine joined the company in 1990. She has worked in various financial and marketing roles within Shannon Airport during the past two decades, and qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in 1992.
“As Director of Shannon Airport, Martin Moroney has been a key member of the DAA Executive team over the past eight years,” said DAA Chief Executive Declan Collier. “On behalf of DAA Chairman David Dilger and the Board I wish to thank him for the enormous contribution that he has made to this company over the past three decades and to wish him the very best in his retirement.”
Mr Collier also congratulated Ms Considine on her appointment as Shannon Airport Director. “Mary brings excellent experience and capability to this role. She is a wonderful addition to the overall DAA management team, and I wish her every success in the future.”
Shannon Airport Authority Chairman Brian O’Connell also paid tribute to Mr Moroney and welcomed Ms Considine to her new role. “Martin has been a great asset to Shannon Airport, and while I am sad to see him go, I’m delighted to welcome Mary into her new role,” Mr O’Connell said.
