Airline CEOs To Gather In Ireland For DAA Hosted Conference
CAPA – Centre for Aviation is pleased to announce that airline Chief Executives and senior executives from all continents will be attending this year’s Airlines in Transition event on April 11/12, 2013 to be held at the prestigious Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt resort in Co.Wicklow.
The goal of the Summit, which is being hosted by Dublin Airport Authority (DAA), is to examine in rare detail the various high level issues that shape where the world’s airlines are heading – that is: the next generations of airlines. As low-cost airlines evolve and take on more of the characteristics of full service carriers and each seeks to connect more effectively to the other, a whole array of legal, operational, strategic, commercial and technological issues arises. The Airlines in Transition forum is designed to explore how this new industry is evolving, sharing experiences from every region of the world and from a variety of airlines.
Dozens of Airline CEOs, COOs and CIOs will be at Airlines in Transition. Hear from the decision makers at Aer Lingus, Air Arabia, airberlin*, Airblue, bmi Regional, Brussels Airlines, Comair*, Dragonair, easyJet, Flybe, HNA/Hainan Airlines, IAG, Iberia Express, Jazeera Airways*, Jazz Aviation, JetBlue, Lufthansa, Monarch Airlines, Privatair, Ryanair, SATA, Vivaaerobus*, Vueling and WestJet – with more to be announced soon (*awaiting final confirmation).
The unique Thought Leader and Panel format of this event means that most CEOs will also stay and participate on both days – as well as at the unique CAPA Roundtable Dinner, hosted by CNN’s Richard Quest. Other Thought Leaders and special guests include European Commission Director Air Transport Matthew Baldwin, Airline Strategist and Published Author Nawal Taneja, leading distribution industry analyst Gillian Gibson, IATA General Counsel Jeffrey N. Shane and easyJet Non–executive Director Rigas Doganis.
“We are delighted to be hosting this year’s Airlines in Transition event,” said DAA Strategy Director Vincent Harrison. “DAA looks forward to welcoming representatives of some of the world’s leading airlines to Dublin and to Wicklow in the year of the Gathering, and to showcasing the opportunities for growing their business at Dublin and Cork airports.”
CAPA Executive Chairman, Peter Harbison said: “the first event in Istanbul last April was regarded by many of the CEOs and others taking part as the most valuable aviation event of the year. The unique format of the Summit is designed to stimulate high-level discussion between industry leaders, with maximum audience participation. We look forward to a robust discussion in Dublin.”
