DAA Welcomes Emirates Capacity Boost On Dubai Route

January 15, 2014

DAA (Dublin Airport Authority) welcomes Emirates’ announcement today to fly double daily on its non-stop flight from Dublin to Dubai from September  1 this year.  The extra return flight will add more than 5,000 seats a week in both directions.

“We are delighted that Emirates has decided to go double daily on the route just two years after launching its Dublin service. I know that Dublin has been one of Emirates’ most successful ever route launches and the seven new flights per week will offer additional choice to both business and leisure passengers travelling to and from the Middle East and beyond,” said DAA Chief Executive, Kevin Toland

Over 440,000 passengers have travelled on the Dubai – Dublin service since the route started in January 2012.

Passenger traffic to the Middle East grew by 13% in 2013 with Emirates’ service to Dubai and Etihad Airways’ route to Abu Dhabi.

Emirates and Etihad Airways currently fly 34 return flights from Dublin Airport to the Middle East weekly. Emirates announcement today will bring this figure to 48 return flights in total from September.
